🌟 The Exciting Life of a Godly Person
A verse from Proverbs 14:14 (Living Bible) states that "The godly man's life is exciting." This becomes a mirror for Christian self-evaluation. If a believer finds their Christian life boring, it signals a lack of godliness. Many Christians might find excitement in worldly achievements, like making money, but that is temporary. The hallmark of a truly godly life is spiritual excitement.
This exciting Christian life is not exclusive or reserved for a few. God shows no partiality; He treats all human beings the same. But spiritual excitement follows spiritual laws, just like physical health follows dietary laws. People take physical health seriously—avoiding unhealthy foods to live long. The same diligence must apply to spiritual life by following God’s laws.
📖 Living by Every Word of God
Matthew 4:4 emphasizes, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” The key word here is "every." Food is necessary, but more vital is spiritual sustenance—every word that comes from God’s mouth.
Taking God’s word seriously, word by word, is the key to a vibrant life. Having studied the Bible for 64 years, it’s clear that reverence for every word of Scripture brings transformation. Initial belief may come from trusting others’ testimonies, but over time, personal experience confirms the truth and power of God's word.
🔥 Radiance Through the Word and the Spirit
There is a rare but unmistakable radiance in the lives of some believers. Observations show two common traits among them:
- They believe the Bible is God's word from cover to cover.
- They have experienced being filled with the Holy Spirit.
These two realities are essential: complete faith in the entirety of Scripture and the experience of Spirit-filled living. Together, they form the foundation for spiritual radiance and deep transformation.
📚 Reverence for Scripture as a Measure of Love for God
Reading the entire Bible is not about understanding every part immediately but showing respect for the One who authored it. If someone has been a Christian for over four years and has not read the Bible from cover to cover, it reveals a lack of respect for God.
A vivid illustration is shared: imagine a bride whose fiancé has traveled far away and sent a 30-page letter. If she truly loves him, she will read every word. Skimming or ignoring the letter suggests that she’s more interested in what she can gain from him—wealth, comfort—than in the man himself.
Similarly, a believer who does not read God's word fully may want the blessings of God without loving Him deeply. Such a person might want miracles, provision, and answers to prayer but shows little interest in God’s heart and thoughts.
🧠A Changed Life Through Respecting Scripture
The decision to take God's word seriously results in significant life changes. When Scripture is respected, the attitude toward sin changes. This transformation is tied to the deep reverence for every word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16 states, “All Scripture is inspired by God.” The emphasis is again on the word “all.” Just as in the earlier illustration, every word of the fiancé’s letter carries value because it expresses love. God’s Word is the same—breathed out by Him, and filled with purpose.
💎 The Profitability of God’s Word
Scripture is profitable. Many pursue worldly avenues like the stock market for profit despite risks. In contrast, God’s word offers sure profit with no risk of failure. It is beneficial for:
- Teaching
- Reproof
- Correction
- Training in righteousness
This ensures that the man or woman of God becomes fully equipped for every good work. This equipping leads to transformation in personal life, family, parenting, and even health. The Word of God trains believers to live the life that humanity was originally designed to live.
