His mercy rains | God’s compassion continually pours down, renewing the believer’s life (Lamentations 3:22-23). |
Unending love | God’s love for the believer is eternal and unchanging (Romans 8:38-39). |
Amazing Grace! | Celebrates the extraordinary, transformative nature of God’s grace, central to salvation. |
The Lord has promised good to me; | God assures blessings and hope for the believer’s future (Jeremiah 29:11). |
His word my hope secures. | God’s promises in Scripture provide a firm foundation for hope (Hebrews 6:19). |
He will my shield and portion be | God protects (shield) and sustains (portion) the believer throughout life (Psalm 28:7). |
As long as life endures. | God’s provision and protection continue for the believer’s entire earthly life. |
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow | The world is temporary and will pass away, unlike God’s eternal kingdom (2 Peter 3:10). |
The sun forbear to shine | Even cosmic order will fade, emphasizing the transient nature of creation. |
But, God, who called me here below, | God, who chose the believer for salvation, remains faithful (1 Thessalonians 5:24). |
