30th April 2026 -Session 2 - Bearing The Dying Of Jesus To Manifest His Life - Victor (Manifesting the Life of Jesus)

Organized Summary Notes: “Manifesting the Life of Jesus – Carrying His Dying” (Follow-up message by Brother Annie – CFC Bangalore Conference)

1. Main Theme & Central Challenge

  • The previous message (Bro. Zac Poonen) beautifully painted the life of Jesus from childhood (hunger for God’s Word, obedience to parents, baptism, temptation, humility & gentleness).
  • To manifest that same life today, two things are essential:
    1. Beholding the glory of Jesus (Holy Spirit’s primary ministry).
    2. Carrying the dying of Jesus in our body every day.
  • Without the daily dying (death to self), we cannot manifest the life of Jesus.
  • Most Christians only know the final death on the cross; Jesus carried a continuous dying throughout His entire life.

2. Key Scriptures (The Two Pillars)

A. 2 Corinthians 4:10-12

“Always carrying in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body… death works in us, but life in you.”

B. 2 Corinthians 3:18

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”

  • The Holy Spirit’s main work: Show us the glory of Jesus → transform us into His image.
  • Between seeing His glory and being transformed: We must die to self (the dying of Jesus).
  • Prayer test for Holy Spirit anointing: “Lord, anoint me.” → “Why?” → “To see & manifest Jesus’ glory.” → “Are you willing to die?” Only when we say “Yes” does the Father give the Holy Spirit.

3. What Does “Carrying the Dying of Jesus” Look Like?

(Practical examples from Jesus’ life)

A. Not Reviling When Reviled (1 Peter 2:23; Isaiah 53:7)

  • “While being reviled, He did not revile in return… like a lamb led to the slaughter… He did not open His mouth.”
  • Jesus was called: demon-possessed, deceiver, Samaritan, glutton, drunkard, son of Mary (derogatory).
  • Homework for children (especially during May vacation): Go through all 4 Gospels → list every name/insult Jesus received and note how He responded (He never reviled back).
  • Real-life application (marriage & family):
    • When husband speaks against wife’s family/parents/siblings → do not raise voice or revile back.
    • When “sheared” (name, fame, dignity, family attacked) → die there.
    • Revelation 13:11 test: Looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon → the test is when it opens its mouth.

B. Silent Under False Accusations (Matthew 27:12-14)

  • Before Pilate: Accused by chief priests & elders → Jesus answered nothing. Pilate was amazed.
  • Jesus’ ears were open only to the Father’s voice — accusations did not enter.
  • Isaiah 42:19-20 (prophecy about Jesus): “Who is blind but My servant… deaf as My messenger…? …Your ears are open, but none hears.”
  • Mark of Holy Spirit anointing: False accusations, insults, criticism → do not enter our ears. We stay deaf to them.

C. Not Justifying Yourself When Misunderstood (John 7:41-42)

  • People said, “Christ cannot come from Galilee… He must come from Bethlehem.”
  • Jesus did not explain His birth story, show any proof, or defend Himself.
  • Examples from Jesus’ life:
    • Called glutton/drunkard → He ate and drank normally (no acting or pretense).
    • Called Samaritan → He continued fellowshipping with the lowly.
  • Practical balance: In serious matters (e.g., false sexual harassment cases, church elder inquiries) → give full explanation and facts first. After that, if still misunderstood → leave it to God. Do not keep justifying.

D. Old Testament Illustration – King Saul vs. David (1 Samuel)

  • When anointed (1 Sam 10:10 + 10:27): Worthless men despised Saul → “he kept silent / did not pay any attention.”
  • When Spirit departed (1 Sam 16:14 → 18:6-8): Women sang “Saul 1,000; David 10,000” → Saul became very angry.
  • Test of praise / position: When someone else is honoured, appointed, or praised → irritation / anger = sign that the anointing is weak or gone.

4. Personal Testimony (Brother Annie)

  • His son’s wedding: Requested simple decoration → previous night’s grand function left full royal decorations (red carpet, lights, flowers).
  • Decorator refused to remove them → wedding looked “royal” and expensive.
  • New car (no number plate yet) used for groom → people assumed lavish spending.
  • Everyone commented and misunderstood → he did not justify publicly or explain. Chose to carry the dying of Jesus and leave it to God.

5. Practical Daily Application

  • Daily prayer: “Lord, show me Your glory… and give me grace to carry the dying of Jesus.”
  • In every situation where self rises (anger, reviling, justifying, reacting to criticism/praise) → die there.
  • Result: The life of Jesus will be manifested in our mortal flesh → others receive life.

6. Closing Exhortation

  • The Holy Spirit is ready to show us the glory of Jesus.
  • But He only anoints those willing to carry the dying of Jesus.
  • Let us not admire Jesus only — let us partake and manifest His life through daily death to self.

Key Verses to Memorise

  • 2 Cor 4:10-12 → Carrying the dying
  • 2 Cor 3:18 → Beholding & being transformed
  • 1 Pet 2:23 & Isa 53:7 → Not reviling
  • Matt 27:14 → Silent under accusation

These notes perfectly complement Bro. Zac Poonen’s message. Together they give a complete picture: Follow Jesus’ example + Carry His dying daily through the power of the Holy Spirit.

You can listen to both messages again on YouTube for deeper meditation.
